Feast of First Fruits

On the first day of the week, they found an empty grave. The question is, is that all there is to the resurrection, or is there more? We celebrate the resurrection, when just a short time before we know our Lord was beaten, dragged and nailed to a cross. The sky darkened, and the disciples wept and ran and hid. Jesus' body was removed from the device of evil, wrapped in a shroud and buried; a stone was rolled over the entrance to the grave. The people left to contemplate their future, but things were about to change and change they did, for all parts of the world.

With a new year around the corner and another decade passes, time moves on. As age races towards you, life can become more and more interesting. Ten short years ago, I was at work, newly promoted to the top tutor position, and life was good. But, one thing we must always remember, don’t get too comfortable in the work we are doing for the Lord.

The small beginning

I was born on the 23rd day of April 1943 and then left at the hospital by my mother until she was forced to collect me, maybe up to a year later. In the world today and even in Christian societies so many people are blaming their childhood for today’s situation in their lives. It is so easy to do this when society is saying the reasons are because of what has happened to you as a child, and the Church has also taken this on board. It is time for us to look back and see how God’s hand was upon us in bringing us through a training period to make us more aware of His saving grace.
